The project aims to harness the high tourist potential of Puglia, Epirus, and Western Greece through the development of nautical tourism in 24 small and medium-sized ports (12 in each country). For the Italian project area in the Puglia region, two pilot ports (pivot ports), Manfredonia and Gallipoli, have been selected—one in the northern and one in the southern part of Puglia. This supports connections between the selected ports and inland areas with alternative tourism activities related to the natural and cultural resources that characterize the environmental, cultural, and landscape system of the hinterland.
